Core exercises available in this PTW360 program are designed to develop a more stable trunk during acceleration, shooting and changing direction movements. Core training represents a key element for a longer and healthier sports career. It is of extreme importance to note that every sport requires core stabilization and hip rotation.
Essentially, core muscles are:
o Rectus abdominis;
o External and internal obliques;
o Quadratus lumborum;
o Hip rotators;
o Erector spinae;
o Glutes;
o Hamstrings.
These muscles are the vital link between strength in the upper body and strength in the lower body.
Core programs help any athlete who suffers from low back pain. Core exercises using the medicine ball enhance the strength
of all muscular groups involved. Core training is important to develop power, needed for instance to shoot with higher intensity or to apply acceleration techniques, regarding the vertical strength principles and the ability to produce stiffness.
