We accompany our Athletes during all times of their sports careers, from the in-season, the off-season and the pre-season. The PTW360 project and work involved is adjusted according to the phase in which each Athlete is, depending on the load and sports’ intensity which the Athletes are facing at that specific moment, and also according to their state of readiness and Performance.
We work in two different ways with the Athletes, namely through the long-term monitoring and development of Athletes, through the Long-Term Athlete Development Program, and also through the monitoring of Athletes abroad, during their sports season, according to their specific needs. The principles of the working system are the same, however the frequency and intensity are different.
At PTW360 we work with everyone, whether they are athletes in competition or not, passionate about sports, or, people who do not play any sport and just want to improve their physique and health. Everyone is included in our methodology and can experience our work to achieve their goals. Every Human Being has a body, therefore we can all be Athletes and train like one to achieve our goals.
At PTW360 we have specialists in several areas. Specialists not only in the performance of athletes, but also in the promotion of health, physical and mental well-being. We are focused on improving our customers' quality of life. Our goal is to provide the best possible physical condition to those who come to us and embrace this project, always with the aim of improving their health and self-esteem, taking into account their personal goals.
The PTW360 Long-Term Athlete Development Program aims to develop, to maximize and to promote the physical qualities of the Athletes, according to their respective long term goals, and taking into account their growth and development (biological, motor, muscular and hormonal). The established goals and results are achieved through optimal and personalized training, which is planned to detail, as well as through a proper recovery and education throughout the Athlete’s career.
There are five important reasons for introducing a long term Athlete development approach:
1. To establish a clear sports development pathway (football, athletics, tennis, surf, basketball, swimming, among others);
2. To identify gaps in the current sports development pathway;
3. To realign and integrate the programs for developing Athletes, aiming to potentiate their abilities and physical qualities;
4. To provide a planning tool, based on scientific research, for Athletes, parents, coaches and agents;
5. To guide planning for optimal performance, according to their abilities and their major needs.
Nowadays, we have seen a large increase in the number of young Athletes presenting several injuries and considerable limitations in their athletic, functional and technical abilities. Limitations specifically refer to strength, flexibility, running mechanics and the ability to perform basic exercise technique. The Athletes’ inability to perform basic physical tasks, will consequently lead to many sporting limitations in the future, that may come in the form of injuries, poor technique or limited inadequate and defective skill execution. As a consequence, the Athletes will hardly reach their full genetic potential, which will lead to mediocre Athletes at the elite level, being often a crucial and determinant factor to allow them to progress successfully in their careers.
